Course Description

Objective:

  • Provide participants with a foundational understanding of Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
  • Equip participants with the skills to actively contribute to Six Sigma projects within their teams.
  • Prepare participants to support process improvement initiatives within their respective roles.

  • Overview of Six Sigma
    • Introduction to Six Sigma: history, principles and benefits
    • Explanation of the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology
    • Importance of Six Sigma in driving process improvement and achieving business excellence
  • Roles and Responsibilities
    • Overview of key roles in Six Sigma projects: Champions, Black Belts, Green Belts, Yellow Belts
    • Responsibilities of Yellow Belts in supporting Six Sigma initiatives
    • Importance of effective teamwork and collaboration in Six Sigma projects
  • DMAIC Methodology
    • Introduction to DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control)
    • Overview of each phase and its objectives
    • Importance of structured problem-solving approach in process improvement
  • Define Phase
    • Understanding project goals and objectives
    • Identifying stakeholders and establishing project scope
    • Developing a project charter and defining critical success factors
  • Measure Phase
    • Introduction to process mapping and value stream mapping
    • Selecting appropriate process metrics and measurement methods
    • Collecting and analyzing data to establish baseline performance
  • Analyze Phase
    • Identifying root causes of process issues using tools such as:
      • Cause-and-effect diagram (Fishbone/Ishikawa)
